There is a new section in the Wiki Problems_and_Solutions to approve the finding of a solution to problems you might encounter. As a consequence some content of the Tips and Tweaks section has moved the this new section. Both sections have been alphabetized, we hope this helps and improves the readability of the content.

Although a SetTopBox (STB) isn't a media player most media files can be played. These files can be played using Gstreamer. Gstreamer isn't something you have to select or install, the only thing you have to do is go to the file you want to be played and press OK or use the Play button on your remote control and the file will start playing. To access your media files use the remote control, as most remote controls have a button like PVR, Playlist, Recording list, Media or something that points to playing recorded files. These names are chosen, as it is a STB (SetTopBOX) and thus meant to play recordings and not all kind of media files. If you want to read more about Gstreamer follow the link. If for some reason the media file is not playing please read here: media files not playing.
